Karsten Jänicke

Karsten Jänicke nasceu em 1968 em Kamen, na Renânia do Norte-Vestefália. Depois de se ter licenciado em 1994 em economia e ciências sociais, com especialização em controlo, marketing e logística, na Universidade Técnica de Dortmund, trabalhou como gestor de qualidade e gestor de projectos de outsourcing na Thyssen Haniel Logistic em Barcelona. Em 2001, tornou-se diretor-geral da empresa espanhola de impressão de papel Lamigraf GmbH, em Bönen, até se mudar para a RENOLIT, em Worms, em 2008. Aí foi diretor da unidade de negócios da antiga BU RENOLIT DESIGN até 2019, altura em que foi nomeado para o Conselho Executivo. Karsten Jänicke é agora o membro responsável do Conselho de Administração pelas unidades estratégicas de mercado Interior Surfaces, Roof & Water Care e Pool bem como para várias unidades empresariais.
Karsten Jänicke é membro honorário do VinylPlus desde outubro de 2023. É membro do Conselho de Administração da Vinyl Foundation e membro do Conselho Diretivo do VinylPlus.
Karsten Jänicke é casado e tem dois filhos. Gosta de desportos como a corrida, o futebol, o ténis de mesa, o padel e o squash. Além disso, adora viajar, ler e ir ao cinema de vez em quando.

I notice over and over again that young people at the start of their career in particular don't have the confidence to contribute their ideas and take risks. That's why I keep asking myself: what can I do as a manager to give my employees more security?

Promoting young talents is an engine for the industry
The success of German industry is based on the expertise of its many employees. The extreme shortage of skilled workers is consequently an unprecedented threat to the entire economy. Therefore, I am surprised that we in Germany place so little emphasis on promoting young talents. After all, it can act as an engine for industry. To achieve this, however, politics and business need to make more efforts together - instead of just relying on short-term solutions.
